
This is probably the best overall hunt that we do as it is action-packed every day. We mostly shoot the boars off brumby baits so after we stalk some baited areas and a few creek lines in the morning we might spend a few hours chasing some more herds of bait (Horses Donkeys) around and dragging and winching them up to where we bait. Then we might head back to camp for a couple hours R&R before heading out again for the evening hunt.
Generally we sit in a ground blind overlooking the bait and wait for the boars to come in. There are always lots of good photo opportunities doing that as you see a lot of other pigs, waiting for the boars. Sometimes, the big old boys may not come in till right on dark or after so we stay in the ground blinds till after dark and hit them with the light's
This is the trophy boar version ... if clients aren't interested in trophies we can just shoot sows. There is a need to reduce numbers but shooting mobs of sows doesn't exactly help in the quest to getting big boars - you have to choose one or the other really.
